Coronavirus Information

During the COVID outbreak Braesview Medical Group is open

Please contact us if you have concerns about new symptoms or a change in your condition.

We are triaging all requests for medical help, that means a Nurse or GP will call you on the phone, however please note you can make a telephone appointment with our Mental Health Nurse and Physio directly through our reception staff on the phone.

We will advise you if need to attend the surgery.

We have taken steps to minimise the risk to patients attending the surgery.

Please continue to practice social distancing and hand washing.

All staff at Braesview wish you and your family well at this difficult time.

Covid 19

COVID 19 - Important

If you develop a new continuous cough or fever or loss of / change in sense of smell or taste  DO NOT ENTER THE HEALTH CENTRE.  You must self isolate for 10 days and arrange a COVID test click here to arrange a test

If you become very unwell please contact NHS 24 111.  NHS 24 is now triaging all patients with COVID related concerns.

Visit www.nhsinform.scot for more information.

We have set up a new temporary phone line to the practice.  You can contact the practice on 01324 715540 or 01324 722458.

Prescriptions

Our community pharmacy colleagues have been under great pressure and are working very hard at this challenging time.  Please use the online ordering where at all possible, and leave 7 days for repeat prescriptions to be filled.

We have set up a new email address for prescriptions requests only:

fv.braesviewscripts@nhs.scot

If you need to hand in a prescription, each of the 3 practices in the Health Centre will have a box at the front door for you to leave this.  Samples can be left there too.

Asymptomatic COVID testing

There is a new drop in testing facility at Polmont Sports Centre.  This will be  operating between 10am and 8pm and will be open between Wednesday through to Sunday each week.

It is expected to remain open until at least 17 May (closed during the week beginning 3 May due to the venue being used in the Scottish Parliamentary elections).

No appointments are necessary as the centre operates on a ‘drop-in’ basis. The test itself takes around 30 minutes and you will receive your results the same day either by phone or text.

The centre is to be operated by military personnel for the first couple of weeks and thereafter by Falkirk Community Trust who will manage the venue and ensure high levels of safety for any visitors who attend.

You should not attend the new Polmont testing centre if you are displaying any symptoms (even mild) of COVID-19 and instead arrange a test via nhsinform or by calling 0300 303 2713.

Many people now have access to lateral flow tests due to their occupation.  These must only be used if you do not have COVID symptoms.   If you have COVID symptoms please access testing through nhsinform.

Self isolating support

If you have been told to self isolate and require support it is available from Falkirk Council.
